Product details for QNAP TS-1677X-1700-16GB 16-Bay NAS

Give your team a secure, efficient way to store data with QNAP's TS-1677X-1700-16G desktop NAS. This TS-1677X-1700-16G NAS (network-attached storage) device, unlike traditional external hard drives, can be integrated directly to your network. It also requires much less power than regular PCs and offers you over enough space for all your data. It has an AMD PRO Ryzen 7 1700 3.0 GHz processor. It has This model ensures that you won't have to deal with long loading times and, because of its high 16 GB RAM, several users can simultaneously access its stored data without problems. This desktop NAS system has the following data storage arrays available: 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, JBOD, 50 and 60. JBOD (or "just a bunch of disks") allows you to connect hard drives of various sizes to create a multi-drive storage system. Unlike RAID levels, you will not lose any storage capacity of the various drives you combine.

Using RAID 0 means your hard drives (ideally of equal storage capacities) are interconnected and work parallely. This increases performance and speed as the work is split bewteen multiple drives, but there is no fault tolerance. When using RAID 1 your data will be mirrored from one drive to another so that if one fails you will not lose any information. This fault tolerance also means that your total drive storage capacity is halved due to duplicated content. For smaller NAS systems RAID 1 is an ideal option. Using RAID 5 means your data is split among multiple hard drives — when one drive has an error the data is copied and distributed to the other drives. With this method you can retain the storage capacity of all your drives. It's the ideal choice for larger NAS systems with more than three drives. RAID 6 offers you high data security and is still operational even if two hard drives in the system fail.

Take advantage of great quality and good, comprehensive service, from the moment you order to the delivery of your purchase.
