Product details for Fujitsu CELVIN Q805 4x4TB NAS Storage

Get your team a secure, efficient way to store data with Fujitsu's VFY:CQ805XX040E1 desktop NAS. Due to its substantial capacity of 16 TB you'll have enough space for everything you need. Unlike traditional external hard drives, you can simultaneously connect all computers in your network to this NAS (network-attached storage) device. It offers you over enough storage space and uses much less electricity than regular PCs. The desktop NAS device and is equipped with an Intel Celeron J1900 2 GHz processor. With this model's 2 GB of RAM several users can access its data at the same time. This desktop NAS system has the following data storage forms available: 0, 10, 5 + hot spare, 5, 1, JBOD and 6. JBOD (or "just a bunch of disks") allows you to connect hard drives of various sizes to create a multi-drive storage system. Unlike RAID levels, you will not lose any storage capacity of the various drives you combine.

RAID 0 stores your data on multiple drives, which increases performance and speed as all work is split among the various drives rather than handled by just one. The drives should ideally have equal storage capacities and a minimum of two drives are required. This RAID level offers no fault tolerance and is therefore best suited for large volumes of high speed storage. When using RAID 1 your data will be mirrored from one drive to another so that if one fails you will not lose any information. This fault tolerance also means that your total drive storage capacity is halved due to duplicated content. For smaller NAS systems RAID 1 is an ideal option. Using RAID 5 means your data is split among multiple hard drives — when one drive has an error the data is copied and distributed to the other drives. With this method you can retain the storage capacity of all your drives. It's the ideal choice for larger NAS systems with more than three drives. You get a higher level of data security when implementing RAID 6, even if two hard drives fail, the system will still be operational.
